On Tuesday night, around 730pm, West Australian time, we ordered a game off the Internet from a game shop over in New South Wales (2 hours ahead of us).
On Thursday morning, around 8am, West Australian time, the door bell rang - it was a delivery man with our new game!!
It took a grand total of 36.5 hours between placing the order and receiving it! Pretty good :)

Grandparent Visit
Tonight we had the pleasure of making dinner and spending an evening with my grandparents, who our children call Opa and Oma. They live 4 hours away from us, but were in the city for a week's holiday. It has been quite a while since we last saw them, so it was great to talk with them again. And the children loved being read to and someone to colour in pictures with :) In this day and age, it can be such a privilege to have great-grandparents.
Glorious Weather
All week this past we have had glorious weather! Blue skies, warm-ish sun! Each day we have spent some time outside, enjoying the winter weather reprieve :) One day I took full advantage and filled up the whole washing line (sheets, towels, clothes etc). Unfortunately the sun just wasn't quite warm enough, so some clothes had to be taken inside to finish their drying process.

Cooked Dinner
These two graciously came over to our house to cook dinner for us - we were spoilt! It was a little strange, but really quite nice to sit back and watch it all being made, without having to do more than point out where our cooking supplies were located :)

Tahnee: 10 months
| "What?!? Already?!?" |
At 10 months Tahnee:
* weighs just 7.7kg ~ she has plateaued out with her weight and is now on the 10th percentile, which is quite small, however if you saw what she does and what she eats over 24 hours, you would understand her size!! She is constantly moving and the only time she is still is when she sleeps. She eats 2 weetbix for breakfast, 2 jars of baby food for lunch, a yoghurt mid afternoon and 1 full ikea bowl of meat and veg at dinner, and sometimes she wants more! Plus she has 3 feeds a day. She eats more than Lucas did at this age. So we think her size is mainly due to genetics and not her CDH.
* she fits 00 and 0 tops and 00 and 000 bottoms (000is a tad short)
* she can clap her hands
* she can do a high five
* she can wave bye bye
* she still army crawls
* she stills pulls herself up to stand
* she was weaned from 4 to 3 breastfeeds a day
* her favourite toy is Mum, and if she spots Mum she makes a beeline for her! Its cute, but annoying at times, like when I need to make dinner and it involves lots of moving between the stove, oven, bench, pantry etc.
* and she loves to give wide, open mouth slobbery kisses - she will even pull your head towards her :)
And the most exciting development - today was her first day of having BREAD for lunch! Why is that so exciting you ask?? Well, in the past when she ate bread she would vomit, choke, gag etc. But during the week we tried again and she was happy to munch on a piece after her dinner. So I decided to try her with it for lunch today and I'm happy to say she ate 1.5 slices, crusts and all, and only choked right at the end!! For a child who doesnt eat much that isn't smooth and pureed, its a great accomplishment :)

* It's Official *
Last month I blogged about moving house and I mentioned that we are keeping our old house and renting it out. The week after we moved we spent more time at the old house than we did at the new one! We were busy sugar soaping walls, cleaning cupboards, washing blinds, getting the carpets steam cleaned, mopping, vacuuming, working outside and painting {we repainted the main area walls, plus the bathroom ceiling which we had replaced}.
The week after we moved out, we signed a contract with a real estate company, the house was professionally photographed and listed on the Internet.
From memory the real estate agent conducted four public walk throughs, and had at least one private viewing. We were averaging 8-9 parties walking through each home open, but we never received any applications. We were getting worried, thinking there may be something wrong with the house. On the third walk through we received 2 applications, both of which we rejected for various reasons. Then, on the last walk through we received 3 applications, two of which were promising. Our property manager also informed us that she had a private viewing later that day with an elderly couple who were very keen on our property.
That afternoon we received an application from that couple as well. They sounded lovely on paper, so we approved them :) And they are scheduled to move in sometime today. That makes us officially landlords!

Test Results
Way back in late January, I went to see my GP (also my OB/GYN, and somone who knows me well), as I suspected I had post natal depression. He ordered a full blood work of tests, in order to rule out what my symptoms (mainly being exhausted) could also be. When I went back and saw him a week later, he told me the tests indicated my thyroid was overactive, and that was a little strange as overactive usually means more energy. So he told me to get retested a few weeks later.
The next two months were very busy and I forgot all about getting retested. I had an appointment to see about the PND in April, and that same day I went for those further blood tests. Those results indicated that my thyroid was now underactive. These two combined results led to diagnosis of a thyroid disease called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.
This disease is very common, and occurs about 1 in every 15 people, affecting more women than men. It also explains my symptoms, such as being tired, a bit fuzzy (I felt stupid quite often, got confused easily, say weird things and would forget things) and I had a lot of trouble concentrating on things, especially repetitive things like typing.
So now, this diagnosis basically translates into me taking a pill everyday for the rest of my life. This pill will help restore the chemical that my thyroid isn't producing.
Earlier this month I went for yet another blood test to check my thyroid levels, and see if the dosage of the pill was correct. Thankfully this was the case. However, I was told that it can take 2-3 months before I start to "feel normal" again. In the meantime, I have noticed a difference in my exhaustion levels and ability to concentrate for slightly longer period of time :)
Its all a little scary and overwhelming. I know it boils down to a tablet a day, and I'm not worried about that. I've been taking various pills since I first became pregnant (folic acid, iron supplements, multi vitamins, vitamin C, etc). But before I had children, I had no medical problems. Every medical form I had to fill in, I was able to tick "No" to things. And now, 3 years after I started having children, everything has changed. My children's medical forms are complicated, with problems such as allergies, bronchiolitis (possibly asthma), excema, compromised lungs, hospital stays etc. And now mine are more complicated too!! My children have made me realise not to take good health for granted!
